Microtome Knife Sharpener is an essentially piece of equipment in a histology lab. Gradually the knife/razor of microtome becomes blunt after regular use; here Microtome Knife sharpeners become useful as they can sharpen blunt blades in no time. This also saves cost in buying new knives.
There are two kinds of knife sharpeners: Shandon type and Spencer type. In Shandon type sharpeners, the knife is stationary and the plate undergoes rotary motion. On the other hand in Spencer type knife sharpeners the honing plate is stationary and the knife undergoes motion.
